About Dr Docrat
Dr Nasreen Docrat graduated from UCT with an MbChB degree in 2006 and worked in the public sector for several years thereafter. She has obtained her Masters in Emergency Medicine (MPhil) in EM 2020 and is a lecturer on Emergency Medicine at UCT.
She travels extensively around the world and is therefore passionate about this topic. This led to her combining her love of medicine and travel into the travel clinic.
Her background in Emergency Medicine and continued study via UCT in this field keeps her up to date with developments in the discipline. She is a member of the South African Society of Travel Medicine (SASTM) and receives constant updates of travel related incidents and health advisories as they occur throughout the world.
Although she has lived on three different continents, she is very happy to call Cape Town her home. She raises her four lovely children here with her husband. Her love for the outdoors and sports continues to draw her to weird and wonderful places both domestically and internationally.
She is always keen to advise patients on health and safety while travelling but also give them a few tips on the best places to visit while abroad.
